university. He is currently responsible for a wide range of duties, from analytical work to customer support and sales activities. We spoke with him about the appeal of work that goes beyond analysis and the significant level of responsibility entrusted to each individual.
Applying the Chemistry I Studied at University to Water Environment Work
Q. Why did you join AMCON INC.?
At university, I researched and analyzed inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, and plastic degradation. I wanted to make use of the knowledge I had gained, so I joined AMCON INC., where I could be involved in analytical work.
I was also attracted by the opportunity not only to conduct analyses but also to work directly with customers and help solve their challenges.
Work That Goes Beyond Analysis: A Broad Range of Responsibilities
Q. Please tell us about your current work.
My work focuses on analysis, but I am also involved in customer support, sales, and promotional activities. In my previous job, I mainly worked in machinery design and carried out assigned tasks. In my current role, however, there are many more situations where I make my own decisions, such as directing sampling staff and making proposals to customers.
Each analyst is responsible for their own analytical equipment, including daily maintenance, troubleshooting, and decisions regarding parts replacement. While the responsibility is significant, it is also highly rewarding. Because I am involved in the entire process from beginning to end, I can take initiative while maintaining a comprehensive view of the work.
Greater Responsibility Has Brought Greater Reward
Q. What do you find rewarding about this work?
I am involved in almost every step of the process, from receiving inquiries and clarifying requirements to preparing quotations, collecting samples, conducting analyses, and creating reports. One of the attractions of this job is being able to proactively consider and carry out responses while overseeing the entire workflow.
In analytical services, the report itself is the value provided to customers and is used for submissions to public health authorities and decision-making regarding facility operations. I feel that I am directly helping customers through our services by giving peace of mind to those concerned about water quality.
I Want to Be the Analytical Specialist Closest to the Customer
Q. What do you find appealing about working at AMCON INC.?
At many analytical companies, sales and analysis are handled separately. At AMCON INC., however, we are involved in both. As a result, we can respond to customer inquiries without delay. I believe this speed is one of our major strengths.
The industry also changes rapidly due to regulatory revisions and advances in analytical methods, which makes it interesting to work while constantly learning new information.
Expanding My Knowledge to Become an Analytical Specialist Who Can Respond to Any Inquiry
Q. What are your goals for the future?
My goal is to broaden my knowledge further and become an analytical specialist who can carefully respond to a wide variety of issues, both inside and outside the company.
My daily work covers a wide range of activities, including analytical work and responding to customer inquiries. For tasks I do not yet understand or have not experienced before, I would like to continue building my experience step by step by consulting those around me and conducting my own research.
